The Director's Corner: On Graduation

Come celebrate! We are getting ready to graduate 15 (!) students, 9 from the middle school, and 6 from the elementary school. There are two graduation events coming up: the Walkabout Reception on Thursday night (May 24th), which is the more formal setting for the middle school graduates to present their walkabouts and reflect on their years at The Magnolia School, and Graduation Day next Thursday (May 31st), which is the opportunity to celebrate all the graduates, their peers, their teachers and the whole Magnolia community. We hope you can attend both events, as both nicely illustrate the school's values and traditions: demonstration of personal growth, student/teacher bonds, creativity, love of the outdoors, communal meals... We especially encourage the elementary school graduates to attend the Walkabout Reception, making sure they understand that the purpose is not to intimidate them, but to show them what to look forward to.
