Middle school student to be published in national magazine

Stone Soup magazine—the leading publisher of children’s writing in the U.S.—will publish a poem by Magnolia School rising 8th grader Genevieve Jacobs in its November/December issue. Genevieve submitted the poem “Reflections,” which describes a bearded dragon looking at its reflection, as part of her Walkabout project for school. Selection is quite an honor: Stone Soup receives around 200 submissions a week, and of those, only the top 5 percent are considered for publication. The magazine has a readership of about 60,000.

Congratulations to Genevieve!
